On Point Construction was founded by two lifelong tradesmen, Nick and Rob created a partnership built on hard graft, experience, and a shared belief in doing things properly. We’ve learned our trade the traditional way, on site, hands-on, and that’s shaped how we run the business today.
We believe good buildings start with good relationships. When there’s trust, communication, and a bit of pride in the work, everything else falls into place. Over the years, we’ve built our name across East Devon for solid craftsmanship, reliability, and straight talking.
Whether it’s a bespoke new build or a complex design project with an architect, we take the same approach: plan it carefully, build it with care, and finish it to a standard we’d be happy to have in our own homes.
The On Point Story
With over forty years of combined experience across high end construction, joinery and carpentry, we've worked on everything from character restorations to multi-million-pound new builds across Exmouth, Budleigh Salterton, Lympstone, Exton, and Topsham.
Having learned our trades on small, skilled teams, we developed a broad understanding of every stage of the build process. This hands on grounding has shaped how we run On Point Construction today and we don’t just manage projects, we're involved at every level to ensure the end result reflects the standards we'd expect in our own homes.
When our former employer retired, it felt natural to bring our combined skill sets together and create a company that represents the way we believe construction should be done: with care, collaboration, and craftsmanship at its core.
Nick Gilbert

Nick began his career as a plasterer before completing a degree in carpentry, combining technical precision with a deep understanding of structure and finish. Over the years, he's worked on a range of high-end residential projects, developing a reputation for problem-solving and exceptional workmanship.
Outside of work, Nick enjoys Motor cross riding, going to the gym, exploring Devon's coastline and spending time with his family.
His practical mindset and steady approach make him a natural organiser on and off site.
Rob White

Rob's journey began with a carpentry degree and quickly expanded across multiple trades while working for a leading local builder in Budleigh Salterton.
That experience of learning every aspect of the job, from groundworks to final fix gave him a deep appreciation for how all trades come together to create something special. Known for his attention to detail and clear communication, Rob ensures every project runs smoothly and clients always feel informed.
Away from site, he's passionate about being active outdoors, water sports, travelling always looking for the next big adventure.
